Nov 16, 2011 – New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis and kick returner Joe McKnight lead AFC Pro Bowl voting at their positions, after the early returns on balloting were released by the NFL on Wednesday.

Revis, who has made three Pro Bowls in his career, topped AFC cornerbacks with 248,734 votes, trailing only Green Bay’s Charles Woodson among NFL corners.

McKnight has never made a Pro Bowl before, but led AFC kick returners with 59,961 votes. Devin Hester led all kick returners with 101,932 votes, but McKnight paces the NFL with a 36.0-yard kick-return average, including a 107-yard touchdown.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers led all players in votes, followed by Tom Brady, Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson and Wes Welker.

Balloting concludes on Monday, Dec. 19 following the conclusion of Monday Night Football, and teams will be announced at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27 during a special on the NFL Network.

New York Jets Lead Miami Dolphins 7-3 At End Of…

10 yards.

That’s how much offense the hapless Jets were able to muster up in the first quarter against the Dolphins on Monday night (Oct. 17, 2011), who despite controlling the football, still find themselves down 7-3.

That’s because Darrelle Revis intercepted Matt Moore on third down to run it back 100 yards to put New York up by four after Miami got on the board with a field goal.

While the Jets retain the lead, they have yet to secure a first down and have done nothing to assure the “Gang Green” nation that all the talk from wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who made headlines last week for sacking the team’s offensive line, was just that — talk.

Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer promised to “roll up his sleeves and get back to work,” but with no first downs and a total of 10 yards, it doesn’t sound like anyone at the MetLife stadium is prepared to cross the picket line.

Stay tuned.

New York Jets Training Camp: Expect David Harris…

Read More: D’Brickashaw Ferguson (OT – NYJ), Nick Mangold (C – NYJ), Darrelle Revis (CB – NYJ), New York Jets

Multiple sources around the New York Jets organization have reported a long term deal with inside linebacker David Harris should be completed in the next couple of days. Harris also sounded confident today when speaking with the media, saying he believed the process was near complete. He is currently the team’s franchise player but we have heard all along they planned on locking him down for the long term as the last piece of their “core four” along with Nick Mangold, D’Brickashaw Ferguson, and Darrelle Revis. Harris forms one of the league’s better inside linebacker duos with Bart Scott.

Signing Harris to a long term deal will also provide immediate cap relief to the Jets for this year, who could look to improve their depth at linebacker, offensive line, safety, or wide receiver. There is also still a chance they could look to bring veteran defensive end Shaun Ellis or Trevor Pryce.
